Africa Update #1

I need to make this short and sweet because I only have 20 minutes of battery time left on my computer. I will blog as often as possible. We have recorded some video blog updates that we will try to post tonight. Quick update:

We flew 10 hours from Seattle to Amsterdam. Spent 3 hours in the Amsterdam airport. Then flew 8 hours from Amsterdam to Nairobi. That was over 20 hours of travel (on no sleep) and we finally checked into our hotel in Nairobi (The Panari Hotel). We spent the first few hours on Wednesday touring Nairobi with Joshua, our taxi driver. We toured the entire city, spent some time at the local markets, and ate at a restaurant called Carnivore for lunch. They serve you wild meat on swords.

That late afternoon we flew to Kisumu to visit the Milwani Center. David and Meshach picked us up from the airport and drove us two hours to the missions base. I will write more on the Miwani Center tonight after we do our official tour but so far I am impressed. The leaders are extraordinary. David and Meshach have been incredible hosts. This ministry is very impressive.

Continue praying for Dan and I. The trip has been incredible so far but the travel is pretty intense. We are functioning on 5 hours of sleep a night and want to represent Jesus and CCC well in spite of our lack of energy. I also have some things percolating in brain as it pertains to missions at CCC. I will post more on that later.

I miss my family and I miss my church family. See you in 8 days.
