Canyon Creek Church for Dummies

This Sunday we will begin our summer message series called Canyon Creek Church for Dummies. I guess it could just as easily be title Church for Dummies. Let me start off by saying I don’t think anyone is dumb. We are, of course, usually the popular how to manuals as our inspiration. So hear me say it now…..I think you are brilliant. If you are insulted by the series title please email Heather Taylor, she will make you feel better.

I really have two purposes with this series; a primary and a secondary. My primary purpose is to help people that are new to faith in Christ, our church, or just searching to understand why we believe what we believe and why we do what we do. The secondary purpose is for those of you that already have a strong understanding of all these topics. My hope is that you will hear a simple explanation that will be easy for you to share with others!

Each message will be a simple theological explanation of what we believe as it pertains to each topic. I wanted to provide a schedule for you so you can anticipate each topic.

June 14:  Becoming a Friend of God (What it means to be a Christian)
June 21:  Our Mission (Where are we going as a church)
June 28:  Our Purpose (What we believe as a church)
July 5:    Our Values (Who we are and why we do what we do)
July 12:  Get Connected (What are Fusion Groups)
July 19:  All In!!!  (Why church membership)
July 26:  Connecting with God (Theology of Prayer)
August 2:  Heaven, Yes!! (Theology of Heaven)
August 9:  Hell, No!! (Theology of Hell)
August 16:  Rally Time (Why we fast)
August 23: How is Your Serve?  (Finding your place in ministry)
August 30:  I’ve Been Changed (Theology of Baptism)

I truly believe this series will be one talked about for years to come. It will be great for those of you that are new and those that have been around forever!! We are planning to have a ton of fun with this. Mark my words, EVERY week something unexpected will happen. Don’t miss it!!!
