If you were at church this past Sunday, you know that worship was especially moving. Without a team of volunteers, Ryan and Josh led us in passionate worship from their acoustic guitars; and Canyon Creek willingly followed. As we take the month of August to “Reset,” one of things we are highlighting is our Core Values. These are our fundamental values, they define and direct us. One of those values is Rousing. When we define Canyon Creek as rousing, we mean that (among other things) we are expressive in our worship and distinctly charismatic. Charismatic, for us, means that we believe in the power of God to save, restore, reconcile, free, breathe life and heal. We believe that God still does miracles We believe thatGod loves everyone, forgives anyone, and can mend the most splintered marriage, the most crushed heart and the most broken body. We worship HIM because HE IS GOD; not for what He can do for us, but for who He IS. He deserves our attention, our focus and our time. Our worship is expressive, intentional genuine and sometimes loud!
Below is a testimony from Dave Lium, who was in the front row during the 11 am service. We like to share what God is doing in the lives of others because it gives the credit to HIM and encouragement to YOU. Thanks for sharing this Dave!
“I personally have never witnessed physical healing during a church service…probably because I’ve never asked or never had the opportunity to personally witness someone asking for healing at a service. This Sunday when Brandon asked if anyone was hurting I was standing with all my weight on one foot because my arthritis in my right ankle was on fire worse than ever. For the first time EVER when Brandon asked who was hurting I raised my hand. The combination of the acoustic worship (the most amazing worship I have ever felt so thank you Josh and Ryan) and asking Jesus to heal the chronic pain worked. I didn’t really notice it until walking up the stairs back to our car that my pain was completely gone. Three days later it has not returned!
I write this to hopefully inspire you… I’m sure God put it on Brandon’s heart that morning to pray for me and others.”
