Mid Season Report Card

By Pastor Brandon on 6/15/09

It’s a Monday night, the kids are upstairs playing, Di is at Yoga, and there is nothing interesting on TV so I thought I would write a blog. On occasion I like to steer away from my usual meaningless drivel about the UFC and actually blog on something thoughtful.

My wife and I both avidly run on our treadmill in the garage. On the ledge next to the treadmill we have the Canyon Creek Church vision for 2009. While we run, we will spend a few moments praying for our church to continue its mission in our community. Specifically, asking God to help us reach our goals for each year. Today, as I was running and praying, I realized it is almost the half way point of 2009 and we have already surpassed the majority of what we were believing for in 2009. I thought I would take a moment and share a mid-season report on how we are doing as a community of faith. I hope you are as encouraged by this as I was at that moment! (Don’t worry, I survived this run in with the treadmill!)

Here are a few mid-season highlights at Canyon Creek Church:

  * Attendance average for last quarter was 611
  * Baptized 47 people in the first 5 months
  * 187 decisions for Christ in the first 5 months
  * Added 65 new members in the first 5 months
  * Youth Service attendance is hovering around 100 each week
  * Average over 150 children in our kids ministry each Sunday
  * Overall giving has increased by about 20% over 2008
  * Added a 4th service to accomodate our growth
  * Developed a parking lot team
  * Men’s Breakfasts consistently average over 50 men

Those are just a few of the highlights for the first half of 2009! We are experiencing our greatest season of spiritual and numerical growth in our church’s history. I truly believe our main limitation is our lack of space in our facility (we have a plan)! Great job living out the mission of our church CCC. We are truly becoming a community of faith on a mission! The best part is….the year isn’t quite half over yet! We have exciting dreams for the remainder of the year. The rest of this year will see us strive to:

  * Launch a full-time internship
  * Give out 100,000 touch cards inviting people to our church
  * Launch a campaign to help us raise funds to buy property for our next location
  * Launch 30 Fusion Groups in the fall

We are in the midst of exciting times. Lets continue to pray and believe God for even greater things the rest of this year. Continue to pray for our awesome staff who work diligently serving Jesus and you. Continue to pray for our entire church community that we will continue to live by faith, be a voice of hope, and be known by love in this community. Continue to pray for the Elders as we navigate through our facility challenges. Continue to pray for more you turns in 2009!

On the mission!
