On the Mission Together!

By Pastor Brandon on 2/25/10

We talk a lot at Canyon Creek Church about being “missional.” We encourage everyone to be willing to leverage their relationships for the cause of Christ. We remind each other often that we are in this TOGETHER. That each one of us has a unique personal mission that fits in perfectly with our overall corporate mission of the church. There are seasons at our church when this works better than others.

This past Sunday was a great example of what happens when we all serve together on the mission. People discover Canyon Creek Church in a variety of ways and it is our job to lovingly accept people wherever they are at in their faith journey. It is also our responsibility to welcome in whoever the Lord brings into our church from whatever avenue they came. This past Sunday we had 22 families visit Canyon Creek Church for the first time. Remember, that is not individuals but actual family units. Also important to know that these were the guests who actually filled out and turned in their Connection Card.

I found it fascinating and incredibly encouraging the various different avenues these families took to arrive as our guests. Here are the different reasons why our guests chose to visit us this past Sunday (it is awesome to see how a missional church works together!):

Our desire is create a missional community with multiple entry points for people to discover us and begin a relationship with us. This past Sunday was an incredible illustration of that at work! Great job Canyon Creek Church. I hope this excites you as much as it does me.
