The Reset series has concluded and will now live on in the world of I-Tunes. Fortunately the testimonies in response to the giving messages keep on coming. I wanted to start sharing them with you because nothing builds are faith more than hearing someones story. If you missed any of the Reset messages, check out the podcasts here: http://www.canyoncreekonline.com/sermons/
These testimonies are shared with permission, I hope they build your faith and encourage you as much as they did mine!
“Just wanted to share our experience this week with you. Mark and I have always been faithful with tithing and give regularily to Younglife, which we are really involved with. We both felt God was asking us to give 100.oo a month to The Amazing Race. Our budget is super tight. I budget down to the penny! But, we both felt really happy and eager to give.
Yesterday, our neighbor’s daughters stopped by to chat and left a card for Mark and I. Mark has done the lawn for their elderly parents before and after their passing, and the house just sold. So they stopped by to say thanks and goodbye. In the card was 500 buckaroos! WHAT!?!?!
We are so blessed and I just wanted to share this with you so you get some happy emails after your giving series, and not just negative ones!”
“I just wanted to thank you again for giving this message on giving. My husband and I joyfully give when we can to different ministries and such and always tithe 10%. We really wanted to give ourselves a pat on the back for that until I recently just felt something inside me stirring that we were still not fully in alignment with our giving. I felt the Spirit speaking to me over the past few weeks that we just were not prioritizing our tithing, time, money, and giving towards God. He IS a part of our daily lives but we were not giving Him our first fruits. We were eagerly spending money on ourselves and things and then hoping we had enough for tithing. Since we have started coming to your church (right at the beginning of your RESET series) God has been doing a major shifting and reset in our own lives. Your last sermon “Bump the Lamp” and the one given today just further drove home that we really do want to test our faith and try to out give God. I have felt a stirring in me for some time to get out of our comfort zone with tithing and give more. Thanks for the reminder/ wake up call! Thank you so much for being loyal to preaching the truth where so many others may have sugar coated or down played the message. We are excited to commit to GIVE MORE and EXPECT a big harvest! God bless!! “
“Your message on tithing has been increcible. coming from a man that has gone through church where the push tithing in a way that they force it down your throat i’ve never wanted to tithe. your first message on it was a huge challenge from the holy spirit speaking to me. saying michael its time for your family to tithe. to give back. It was as if Jesus was sitting next to me saying michael i have this thing i want to bless your family with in abundance but i just need you to be faithful. so this last sunday my wife and i stepped out and tithed an amount that the Lord gave us. Well all glory is to be given to God cause we received a back pay check for my disability check in the amount of almost 10,000 that we can now use to bless back and to get out of debt in hopes of buying a house. I wanted to tell you all this as a testimony for the church to know that being obedient to God brings HUGE rewards. feel free to share with the church but don’t mention who from if you want.”
“So after last weeks service Bob and I were both fired up. We felt very much like the Holy Spirit was leading us to get involved in the amazing race campaign. So we talked about it the whole way home and are very excited for the opportunity to get involved in something that is bigger than we are and has eternal rewards instead of material gain. Anyway so we came home and started talking numbers and neither of us had a number that we thought the HS was giving us. We both prayed an “arrow prayer” seperately in our heads and then when we felt like we had a number we wrote it on paper and switched. And of course like any other time we have asked God for direction in giving we had the same number. It is so encouraging to know that he cares, listens and speaks to us even when we aren’t in “deep prayer”. We have no clue how we are going to give this number that he gave us but we are going to do it straight away after corn season and expect that God is going to “show up and show off” (our Bob’s Corn faith slogan) like he has so many times when we have been faithful. We are excited to be on this journey with you!”
“Your sermon two weeks ago inspired me to call my daughter, Staci, in SLC, Utah, to see how she was doing. I told her that I felt that I wanted to help out with groceries. She and her fiancee don’t make much money and are trying to raise his two young boys. When she received the gift certificate for $200 to the grocery store, she called in tears. It turned out that they were broke. Her car insurance had lapsed and her car had been taken. They were late on their mortgage, and they had very little food in the house with 2 young boys. She was so grateful, that they decided to seriously consider moving here to be closer to us. Her fiancee said he would even consider going to church with us. This was better news than any amount of money that could have been given back to us. We continue to pray that they will find better paying jobs here and move sooner than later. After that happened, I called my granddaughter, Brigitte, and told her that I was sending $100 to her fiancee’s mom, who has taken her under her wing. My granddaughter has been calling more and has been happier and more content because of this. She’s also learned by my gesture, how good it is to help others who are in need. Brandon, I can’t thank you enough for going the extra mile to relay the Holy Spirit’s messages to all of us who need Him in our lives. You are truly a blessing to us. Thank you, and thank God.”
If you have a testimony that you have been wondering if you should share with me, please do! Even if it is something you don’t want public, let me know so that it can encourage me. I hope these blessed you as much as they did me.
Keep them coming!
P.Brandon
