We live in an in-between world. We say that the way of the world is just a dream, but we never wake up to the life we have been called to live. Many of us sit in this place between dreaming and living but we are too afraid to wake up to the incredible purpose we have been given. In order to wake up it requires being uncomfortable. It means facing fears like never before. It means forgiving like never before. It means seeking God and repenting like never before.
The great thing is that God is calling us out. He has already reached down and made a way for us. He already knows our hurts and failings, and He so strongly wants us to walk with Him. God’s desire is that we might AWAKEN to this incredible life through him.

In the annals of history, not one event has taken precedence over that of the skate night. In the 1980’s in America, millions of teenage girls hairsprayed their bangs a foot into the air and wrote dreamily in their journals, hoping and praying that tonight was the night Johnny bought them a scented, light-up rose at the skate night. While it may be the year 2013, we are going to bring a whole lot of 80’s glam to Lynnwood Bowl and Skate on April 20th. Cost is $8 for roller skates, $11 for inline. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes! Bring your friends!
April 21st is Canyon Creek’s 3rd Annual Staff vs. Student Basketball game, hosted by Uprising Youth Ministry! This Christmas, Canyon Creek is committed to reaching out to our community. Lew’s BBQ, owned by our very own AC and Tabitha Lewis, will host a community outreach to feed those in need in Everett. We will serve dinner and help fill needs. We are collecting items to give out, including blankets, clothing, and toys for kids. Please bring donations to the 1st floor lobby, or drop them off at Lew’s BBQ. This is a great way to get involved in our community and share the love of Christ! Each December, we take a Special Offering to fund our Benevolence program for the entire year. Throughout 2012, we have kept families in their homes, helped put food on the table, kept the lights on, and served as a catalyst for hope to families who had none. This is our opportunity during the holidays to make it about something bigger than ourselves and give to our community. This Sunday we will be taking our Christmas Benevolence Offering. Please be praying with your family and considering what you will give this year.

The holidays are here! Thanksgiving morning, we will be holding our annual Turkey Bowl! Get out there with the men of Canyon Creek for a game of football. Jackson High School at 8am. Then on Saturday, November 24th, don’t miss our All Church Decorating Day. We love Christmas and it has become a family tradition to get together and get the church building ready for the holiday. The search is on for our next round of Growth Group Leaders! You don’t have to be a theologian to lead a small group. We just need leaders whose desire is to help people connect at Canyon Creek Church, to facilitate spiritual growth, and to motivate people to serve our community. Trunk or Treat is a great annual event that Canyon Creek sponsors every year. Bring your kids to a comfortable, safe, and friendly environment to trick or treat this Halloween. For 20 days, we want to have SOMEONE praying at all times of the day and night. You can pray anywhere, at home, on your lunch break at work, or while on a run. You can even come by the church and pray around the church property or in the auditorium. The goal is that prayer is happening 24 hours a day for 20 days straight.

Canyon Creek’s Youth Ministry, Uprising, is now on their Uprising Unleashed Tour! They have been working very hard and practicing for weeks on end to prepare themselves for the next two weeks. Please pray for safety as they head out on their Tour down to California, and that God would use them to work in the lives of people all over the West Coast!

The Canyon Creek Missions department is heading back to Honduras! We are going to be building a home for the Reyes family. Francisco Reyes, because of his epilepsy, lost his steady job as a night watchman, leaving his family with little to no income. $5,000 has already been raised to fund the home build, but we are still in need of $5,000 more to buy all of the materials. This is a great way to show God’s love to his people. Our Church has been a part of the Meet Me in Mill Creek festival for many years, working in the Kids area. They will have a stand located at the Volunteers of America building on 164th across the street from Wal-Mart on June 28th through July 4th so come and load up on the fun!

All elementary age kids are invited to AMPED, our Wednesday night services for kids. Come expeciting great fun with exciting activities…and invite your friends. The fun starts at 7:00 pm and goes until 8:30 pm (doors open at 6:40 pm) so get AMPED about Wednesday nights!

Proudly show up to one of our church services (8:30, 10:00 or 11:30 am) sporting your most favorite holiday sweater in honor of Crazy Christmas Sweater Sunday. This is going to be awesome, so don’t be caught looking “normal” and don yourself in the appropriate apparel.

It is sure to be a busy morning so make sure you come on time to get a good seat - 8:30, 10:00 or 11:30 am services (no evening service offered during the holidays). And next Sunday, December 19th will be Crazy Christmas Sweater Sunday so don’t be caught looking “normal” and don yourself in the most outrageous sweater you can find!
